The Jakarta Globe reports that State Prosecutors in Bali are seeking a 17 year prison sentence and a fine of Rp.850 million (US$85,000) for a Malaysian man arrested with 372 grams of heroin hidden in his underpants.
Sargunan M. Suppiah, 27, appearing before the Denpasar District Court, heard prosecutors describe how Customs officials arrested him on January 5, 2013 with the stash of heroin.
The sentence demanded by prosecutors is less than the death penalty the Courts could impose in the case.
The trial continues before the Denpasar District Court
