The Indonesia Tourism Association (GIPI) views the imminent opening of Bali's first toll road as likely to help increase the number of tourist visitors to Bali and the income produced by the Island’s tourism industry.
Quoted by Seputarbali.com, the chairman of GIPI-Bali, Ida Bagus Ngurah Wijaya, said on Thursday, June 27, 2013: “I fee optimistic that the new toll bridge road will increase the number of tourist visitors, both from domestic and foreign sources. This is because the road will become a tourism destination in its own right.”
Wijaya says the new road connecting Sanur-Kuta-Nusa Dua provide a unique picturesque view of Bali’s southern shores.
Moreover, he says the toll way will play a key role in reducing traffic congestion in Bali and reduce the negative image Bali’s traffic has created over the past years.
Wijaya sees the new road as reducing anxiety among tourist visitors and the genuine fear that outbound passengers might miss their flight connection.
For all these reasons, Wijaya, speaking on behalf of GIPI-Bali, is confident the new road system will help tourism arrival numbers to grow.
