The Customs and Excise Office at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport has again managed to intercept an narcotics shipment destined for Bali.

According to, the latest shipment of drugs came via a postal packed originating from Holland and contained “love drugs” or methylenedioxyamphetamine (MDA). MDA is considered a drug stronger than ecstasy and is believed to enhance the sexual experience.
According to the chief of the Airport Customs Office, Made Wijaya, “Ecstasy’s effects last for 3-6 hours, while MDA will prolong for 6-10 hours. The narcotics sent form Holland is known as ‘love drugs’ because of its ability to increase the sexual appetite of its user.”
Wijaya explained that the packet of drugs destined for the Denpasar General Post office was discovered by X-ray examination at the airport.

“The addressee on the postal packet was Nia Christian. But the person receiving the package is now the suspect named Vick Adi Priono. Perhaps there is no Nia Christian and that name was just an evasion. We will develop the case further,” said Wijaya.
Wijaya said an inspection of the postal packet revealed 102 blue tablet with the imprint “00” and the letter “R” presented in a plastic bag.
Laboratory tests on the tablets indicate the narcotic MDA.

Wijaya said the postal packet was received on July 23, 2013 and taken by Vicky Adi Priono from the post office on Jalan Kediri in Kuta on July 29, 2013. at whicth time the young man was arrested.
Wijaya put the value of the drugs at Rp. 450,000 (US$45) per tablet giving the drugs confiscated a street value of Rp. 45.9 million (US$4,590).
Vicky Adi Priono is a 27-year-old male born in Surabaya. He now faces possible charges under the drug laws of Indonesia punishable by 5 years in prison and a  fine of Rp. 1 billion (US$100,000).
