Radar Bali reports that a new Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) outlet now under construction on Jalan Puputan Renon in Denpasar, Bali is under scrutiny for possible zoning violations.
Because officials have determined that the KFC outlet has no building permit (IMB) or operational license, the management of the restaurant has been ordered to remove signage and cease development of the site until the required permits are in hand.
Officials are also questioning if the KFC outlet can be licensed in an area zoned exclusively for office use.
The KFC outlet occupying a three-floor location is still under construction, but already bears a banner facing the adjoining roadway announcing the restaurant's opening in November 2013.
A project supervisor at the site confirmed that all three floors would eventually be filled by KFC.
Dewa Made Wesnawa, in charge of City Planning for Denpasar, told the press that his team would look into the new KFC location, its licensing and any possible zoning violations.
