Malindo Air, the Malaysian-based airline that is a joint venture between National Aerospace and Defence Industries of Malaysia and Lion Air of Indonesia, commenced a daily flight services between Kuala Lumpur and Bali on Thursday, September 26, 2013.
The Bali service was launched just four days after the airline commenced a daily service between Kuala Lumpur and Jakarta.
The Bali flight landed at 12:50 pm at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport carrying a group of travel agents and press accompanied by the commercial director of the airline.
The airline is projecting average loads factors of more than 80% on its new Bali service flying Boeing 737-900ER aircraft.
In a official press release, the chief executive of Malindo Air, Chandran Rama Muthy , said: "We're excited by this great potential. This further reinforces Kuala Lumpur as an important Asian gateway. Our strong business and cultural ties to Indonesia make us a natural departing point for flights across the region."
Malindo Air currently operates a fleet of 10 planes with business expansion plans to expand to 100 planes in its first decade of operations.
