Indonesian President to Open Bali Democracy Forum November 7-8, 2013
Following the success of the recently completed Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Conference 2013 (APEC), the southernmost regency of Badung in Bali is becoming increasingly focused on the meeting, conference and event market.
To this end, Bali will act as host to the Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) to be held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) November 7-8, 2013.
The BDF with the theme of “’Consolidating Democracy in Pluralistic Society’’ will be opened with a specially commissioned original dance performance of “Widyadari” performed by 10 beautiful professional dancers that will complement an opening address scheduled to be delivered by Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
More than 58 countries are expected to send delegations to the BDF.
The conference is intended to serve a forum for participating countries to share insights and ideas on developing democratic institutions.
A coordination meeting was held in late October with the police, community security and regency officials to ensure the Bali Democracy Forum runs smoothly.
