Hard Rock International – as part of its “Imagine – There’s No Hunger” global campaign recently visited Bali to obtain a better understanding of the ongoing challenges faced by the children of Bali.

Hamish Dodds, President and CEO of Hard Rock International; joined by Andrew Khoo, General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel Bali, and the three Imagine 2012 Activation Global Winners from Hard Rock Cafe Hamburg, Hard Rock Cafe Brussels and Hard Rock Hotel Penang had the very personal experience of seeing first-hand the poverty and human suffering of some elements of Balinese society living only a short distance from the glamour spots of one of the world’s most favored tourist destinations.

Bali’s Soleman Foundation provided a brief tour underlining the urgency of global Hard Rock “IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER” Campaign launch, a collaboration with Yoko Ono Lennon and long time charity partner WhyHunger (whyhunger.org).

Funds raised from the campaign can be used to help develop and provide sustainable food solutions for the children of the developing country.

“We have seen what a difference our IMAGINE program can make and it has positively impacted many lives of those in need,” said Hamish Dodds, president and CEO, Hard Rock International. “Hard Rock is honored to partner with Solemen Indonesia here in Bali as we now understand the challenges and look forward to work even closer to fight hunger in Bali.”

Kotak - a leading rock band from Indonesia, joined the Hard Rock International’s Imagine Community Activation and Global Launch at Hard Rock Cafe Bali in an evening’s charity concert. “It was an enlightening experience for us and we hope to continue our relationship with all of the generous people at Hard Rock that we met on this journey,” said Tantry, Kotak’s lead vocalist.

Solemen Indonesia Foundation accepted a check from the Hard Rock International for Rp. 100,000,000 (US$ 10,000) to aid the Indonesian children in need. The money was raised through a collaborative effort by Hard Rock International, Hard Rock Hotel & Cafe Bali and Kotak that encouraged restaurant, retail and hotel customers to purchase merchandise and attend the charity concert with their ticket fees donated to helping Indonesian children.
