InterContinental Bali Resort has appointed Christian Fumado as Director of Food & Beverage. He has arrived in Bali direct from a two-year stint with the newly opened InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Vietnam. In Vietnam Fumado assumed a pre-opening role that involved the conceptualization and set up of five dining venues.
Christian is a Spanish national with an extensive background that includes assignments in Michelin star-rated restaurants in England and Switzerland. Learning his craft with of Europe’s finest culinary experts, Fumado has worked as a Chef de Rang before being promoted to the role of Maître d’hôtel.
In 2008, Christian joined the pre-opening team for Atlantis The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai as a restaurant director. Later, he moved to The St. Regis Singapore as director of food & beverage where he oversaw kitchen refurbishments and instigated a highly anticipated calendar of social dining events.
At InterContinental Bali Resort, Christian assumes responsibility for all in-house culinary services. This involves overseeing the daily operations of five restaurants and two bars, each with its own distinct character and style of cuisine. Plans call for him to work closely with the executive chef to revitalize dining concepts.
