Singaporean Student Falls to His Death From a Kuta, Bali Hotel After Consuming Magic Mushrooms

(5/14/2017) A 23-year-old Singaporean fell to his death from the fifth floor of the Hotel Terrace Kuta on Jalan Benesari in Legian on Sunday, May 7, 2017, after consuming illegal magic mushrooms.

Beritabali.com said that Ong Chee Seng’s body was found outside the hotel in the spot where it landed after he leaped from the hotel’s top floor.

Ong, who was a university student in Singapore, was staying in the hotel, sharing a room with a female companion also from Singapore, Jun Yu (23). Ong and Jun had gone out earlier in the evening to purchase “magic mushrooms” that they brought back to their hotel room to consume.

Mixing the mushrooms with orange juice and chocolate, the couple became highly intoxicated, with Ong Chee spontaneously deciding to leap from the hotel’s window.

Ong’s female companion reportedly attempted unsuccessfully to dissuade him from jumping to his death in the small alleyway behind the hotel.

It is unclear if police are trying to track down the place that sold the illegal mushrooms to the visiting Singaporeans.
