(11/24/2012) PT Waskita Karya, the state-owned construction company, has announced that they are optimistic that the Benoa – Ngurah Rai Airport – Nusa Dua toll road will be completed on time.

The Rp. 773 billion (US$80.5 million) project will be completed in April 2013.

Waskita Karya is entrusted with completing packet 2 and packet 4 of the 4-part project.

Separately the Minister of State-owned Enterprises, Dahlan Iskan has expressed his deep satisfaction with the construction of Bali’s first toll way.

“I am satisfied with the optimal synergy which has been given in he process of building this toll road; I hope that in the future the Nusa Dua-Ngurah Rai – Benoa toll road will help overcome traffic congestion in Bali,” said Dahlan.

M Choliq said the two packets of construction undertaken by PT Wastika Karya were packet two located near Benoa and traveled over the shallow sea using 3,028 foundation pillars over a distance of 2.4 kilometers and packet four using 3,641 foundation pillars over a distance of 2.2 kilometers.
