APEC Summit Disrupts Bali Air Connections

AirAsia Cancel Flights and Changes Timing for Bali Flights During APEC Summit

(10/2/2013) AirAsia Indonesia has cancelled 81 flights and altered the schedules of 53 more flying to and from Bali in connection with disruptions caused by the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit (APEC).

Audrey Progastama Petriny, Communications Manager for AirAsia Indonesia, told the State News Agency Antara, “the management offered several solutions in connection with the changes in schedules and cancellation of flights due to VIP flight movements during the 2013 APEC CEO Summit.”

Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport will be closed during selected periods during the APEC Summit.

The airport will be closed to commercial flights during the following periods:

Air Asia is offering a number of alternatives to their passengers affected by flight disruptions occasioned by the APEC Summit. Passengers ticketed on cancelled flights will receive a credit equal to the purchase price of their ticket for use on another AirAsia flight over the coming 90 days or full cash refund.

AirAsia Passengers are also being offered to use existing tickets in exchange for a flight over the same sector at no additional charge for flights departing in the next 10 days.

Passengers requiring more information should have their booking code in hand when calling the AirAsia National Call Center at ++62-(0)21-29270999.

AirAsia is emailing passengers holding tickets to and from Bali affected by cancellations or schedule changes.
