BNI and Citilink Launch New Co-Branded Debit Card for Indonesian Millennials
Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) and Citilink Indonesia are collaborating to create a unique travel and shopping experience for millennials traveling to the Island of Bali
Aimed at the Indonesian domestic market, BNI has created a new debit card co-branded with Citilink Indonesia – the low-cost subsidiary of the national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia.
Holders of the co-branded debit card will enjoy flights on Citilink and transaction facilitation from BNI. The new BNI-Citilink Debit Card was launched on Saturday, September 28, 2019, at Terminal 3 of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport that serves as the airport for Indonesia’s capital city of Jakarta.
Attending the card launch were the Director of Consumer Business for BNI, Anggoro Eko Cahyo, and the Director of Finance for Citilink Indonesia, Esther Siahaan.
After the launching ceremony, a number of millennials who are holders of the new BNI-Citilink Card were invited to join a Citilink flight from Jakarta to Denpasar. Anggoro said the cardholders on board the flight were introduced to the shopping experience of purchasing merchandise onboard the flight with their new debit cards that also functions as a TapCash electronic form of payment.
Moreover, BNI-Citilink cardholders are instantly enrolled as Citilink Members and become eligible for a number of attractive airline benefits. These benefits include discounts of up to 30% on the purchase of air travel on Citilink, discounts on pre-booked meals of up to 30%, and the bonus of 7,300 BNI Poin+.
Citilink ticket purchasers using the BNI-Citilink Card can obtain Green Zone 20% discounts, 1,000 miles of Welcome Mileage and a number of other benefits, explained Anggoro.
BNI shared that use of their debit cards continues to grow with Rp. 18.1 trillion in transactions undertaken through August 2019. That is an increase of 20.6% year on year when compared to August 2018 when transactions totaled Rp. 15 trillion.
When the lucky group of BNI-Citilink Debit Cardholders landed in Bali, they were welcomed by the head of BNI for Bali, NTB and NTT – I Made Sukajaya, where they enjoyed special discounts at a leading souvenir shop. This was followed by a hosted meal a fine dining restaurant in Bali.
