Mason Adventures Turns 30!

Mason Adventures Celebrate 30 Years of Perfecting Adventure in Bali and Nigel Mason’s 75th Birthday

On Thursday, April 25, 2019, Mason Adventures celebrated their 30th Anniversary. A grand celebration was held at the Mason Elephant Park & Lodge in Taro on a day that coincided with the 23rd Year Anniversary of the beautiful Elephant Park.

Speaking at the event, Nigel Mason, the founder of Mason Adventures, expressed the Company’s appreciation to their supporters over the past three decades while presenting awards to top business partners and tens of exciting door prizes worth tens of thousands of dollars. The anniversary also took the opportunity to further showcase the company’s extensive range of tours and products, which includes Jungle Buggies, White Water Rafting, Mountain Cycling, Elephant Interactions, Helicopter Flights, and Mason Chocolate Factory tours. During the day, a wide array of lucky draw prizes were given away, including chocolate hampers from Mason Chocolates, adventure and accommodation packages at the Mason Elephant Lodge, as well as a number of helicopter flights for their top supporters and some very lucky guests

The event was attended by over 500 Bali residents and key figures from various tourism-related businesses, as well as close friends of the Mason family. The festivities kicked off at noon, where guests arrived and were welcomed by the staff and family at the park entrance with refreshments, canapés, and group photos.

After getting acquainted, guests were then guided along a private tour of the park and its latest additions, starting off with the new Treetop Walk at the center of the park, a brand new elevated walkway which was completely built from recycled ironwood from Kalimantan, and gives guests a fresh perspective of the elephants and surroundings from 6 meters above. The park also recently opened up an Elephant Art Gallery, which as the name suggests, only features completely elephant-related works of art from the likes of Dr. Seuss, Peter Hudson, Salvador Dali, and others.

Over the years, the park has been independently audited, affirming in every instance Mason Adventures' well-known commitment to conservation and animal welfare The Park is preparing to open a new Elephant Free Roam Area to provide the Park’s herd of well-cared for elephants an area for relaxation and socializing with members of the herd while completely unattended. Also scheduled for an imminent opening is the Elephant Cave Bridge, which will feature a beautiful array of elephant carvings lining the edge of the bathing lake, an Elephant Information Theatre showcasing a short film that highlights the history, the Park’s story, Mason Adventure-led rescue of a herd of wild elephants, and documentation of the current state of the critically-endangered Sumatran elephant in their native habitat.

As evening approached, a new crowd began to appear to celebrate in grand the 75th birthday of the company’s founder, Nigel Mason. Friends and family arrived to beverages and canapés and later enjoyed a resplendent dinner party in the Elephant Palm Grove.
