An Undiminished Commitment to Promote Tourism

Surabaya Event Canceled. Bali and Jogya Travel Marts Still on for Now.

Despite the trouble prospects ahead for the Indonesian travel industry, at least two major Indonesia travel marts in 2020 are still slated to proceed.

Bali and Beyond and Travel Fair (BBTM)

As reported by Indonesian Tourist News (ITN) - The Bali and Beyond Travel Fair 2020 (BBTF 2020) is still scheduled to be held at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC) June 9-13, 2020.

This will become the 7th time the Bali-based business-to-business event will take place. The theme for BBTF 2020 is "Going Further for Cultural Heritage" with organizers aiming to promote Indonesia's travel products that celebrate Indonesia's rich and diversified cultures.

A check of the BBTF 2020 website on 20 March 2020 showed no change of date.

Jogya International Travel Mart (JITM)

Originally scheduled to take place in late March 2020, the Jogja International Travel Mart (JITM) is postponed until June 15-18, 2020. Organizers cited concerns over the safety and health of buyers, sellers, organizers, and the media in deciding to reschedule.

The Jogya Travel Mart will commence only two days after the end of The Bali and Beyond Travel Fair.

Majapahit International Travel Fair (MITF)

The 21st Majapahit Travel Fair in Surabaya, East Java, which was initially scheduled for April 16-19, 2020, has been officially postponed until "an unspecified time in the future." The postponement, widely seen as amounting to a cancellation of this year's event, was announced by the East Java Government on 20 March 2020.
