Saudi Arabian Flynas Airlines to Commence Flights to Four Indonesia Cities

The number of Indonesian Muslims traveling to Saudi Arabia, primarily to undertake a Haj pilgrimage, increases from year-to-year. In 2018 (1439H), the number of Indonesians who traveled to Saudi Arabia increased 14.5% exceeding 1 million travelers.

As reported by Balipost.com, such a substantial number of travelers between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia have persuaded Flynas Airlines to begin offering direct flights from four cities in Indonesia to the Kingdom. The Saudi Arabian Airline plans for regular flights from Indonesia were announced by the Special Vice President for Haji –Umroh and bilateral agreements, Ahmed Sultan, at the soft-opening of Flynas Airline’s offices at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang on Thursday, November 29, 2018.

Sultan said Flynas Airlines will assist and ease service to Indonesian Muslim pilgrims undertaking umrah and haj travel from Jakarta, Medan, Surabaya, and Makassar to Medina. Passengers will return from Jeddah on board Boeing 747-400 aircraft. At the same time. Sultan said Saudi Arabian and other Middle Eastern tourists are targeted to join the flights to and from Indonesia.

Flynas operates 17 domestic flights in Saudi Arabia and 53 international destinations with 1,000 flights operated each week.

Because of its extensive international flight network, Flynas hopes to carry tourist travelers to Indonesia from Turkey, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Jordan, UAE and India. The Airline has an armada of 30 airplanes and another 120 Airbus A-320 Neo's on order.
