As reported by travel.detik.com, the head of the Provincial Tourism Office for Bali (Kadispar), A.A. Gede Yuniartha, predicts a surge in domestic tourists visiting during the extended holiday period.

The long holiday was made official via a joint decision signed by the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Asman Abnur, the Minister of Religion Lukman Hakim, and the Minister of Manpower Hanif Dhakiri. Additional “shared National holidays” were declared for the two days prior to Lebaran (June 11-12), one day after Lebaran (June 20) resulting in “shared public holidays” on June 11,12,13, 14, 18, 19, and 20. The established 2-day public holiday of Lebaran falls on June 15 and 16.

Yuniartha said: “Typically, the Lebaran Holiday see an increase of between 10-15% in domestic tourism to Bali. These tourists arrive not only via Ngurah Rai Airport, but also via the ports of Padang Bai, Banyuwangi and Lombok.”

The tourism chief for Bali said that the long holiday falling over school holidays should help fuel domestic tourism visits to Bali.
