Crystal Clear Crystal Bay Now Clear of Tourist Visitors
Bali Closes Government-Run Tourist Attractions and Crystal Bay at Nusa Penida Until at Least 31 March.
In the escalating war to prevent the spread of COVID-19, Bali’s Governor Wayan Koster has taken the steps of closing government-operated tourist attractions across the Island.
In keeping with the Governor’s instruction, the citizens of Sakti Village, Banjar Penida, on Nusa Penida Island have also declared picturesque Crystal Bay closed effective 21 March 2020.
The initial closure will remain in effect until at least 31 March 2020.
Widely considered one of Bali’s most picturesque beaches, Crystal Bay is the destination of choice for many day boat operators based on Bali and Nusa Lembongan. Fifteen kilometers from the Port of Nusa Penida, Crystal Bay is famed for its clear waters and underwater sea life, making it a favorite destination for snorkeling and diving.
The Provincial Government of Bali is working on socializing the need for maintaining social distance and avoiding crowds to all Bali residents. By closing the Island’s leading tourist attractions and popular beaches, such as Crystal Bay, authorities hope to flatten the curve of people becoming infected with COVID-19.
