Domestic Air Arrivals to Bali Down 11% January-September 2019
Bali by the Numbers: January-September 2019 saw Bali with 10% Increase in International Arrivals While Domestic Arrivals Declined 11%
NusaBali reports that for the nine months January-September 2019 international passengers at Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport increased 10% while domestic passengers during the same period declined 11%.
Through the end of Q3 2019, Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport handled a total of 17,844,690 passengers traveling on 114,631 domestic and international flights.
According to the general manager of the Bali Airport Authority – PT Angkasa Pura I, Herry AY Sikado, the total passengers handled by the Bali airport during the first nine months of 2019 increase by around 1% from 17,742,158 passengers in 2018.
58% of all passengers using Bali’s airport during the first nine months of 2019 were traveling internationally with 10,365,977 international passengers and 7,478,713 domestic passengers. In terms of flight movements during the same period, the 59,773 domestic flight movements represent 52.1% of all flights with international flights numbering 54,858.
International passengers flying through Bali’s airport for the first nine months of 2019 increase by some 10% with 10,365,977 international passengers arriving and departing the Island by air as compared to the 9,421,167 international passengers who traveled in the same period in 2018.
Domestic passengers for the first nine months of 2019 declined 11% or 824,278 passengers in 2019 with 7,478,713 domestic passengers – down from the 8,302,991 who traveled through the end of Q3 2018.
While the number of international flight movements through Bali’s airport remains largely the same through the end of Q3 2019, domestic flight movements declined 5%.
