The Kempinski Hotel Brand will open a 5 star luxury hotel in the Sawangan Area of Nusa Dua in the first quarter of 2019.
The Apurva Kempinski Bali will be the first Kempinski property in Bali aand the second in Indonesia as a whole. According to the Hotel’s spokesperson, the “Apurva” name is taken from the Sanskrit, meaning unique and grand.
The Chief Operating Office Asia for the Kempinski Group, Michael Hensler, told Kompas.com that his company was very happy to welcome the Apurva Kempinsku Bali to its portfolio of fine hotels. Continuing, he said the Hotel’s architecture reflects the rich heritage of Bali while the interior design ceebrates Indonesia’s great cultural diversity. He said that the Bali property is built on the concept of a “majestic open-air theatre”.
The hotel occupies a 14-hectare parcel of land featuring 475 rooms, 8 restaurants and bars – including the first aquarium restaurant in Bali.
Creating the one-of-a-kind hotel is the award-winning team of architect Budiman Hendropirnomo from Denton Corker Marshall and interior designer Rudi Dodo of Trivium. The hotel uses natural stone, local plants, and incorporates elements inspired by Bali’s sacred Pura Besakih. Indonesia’s cultural and artistic rich diversity comes through in the interior design of the hotel where Javanese wood carvings, traditional textiles, and accents from the traditional homes of South Sulawesi will be detected.
William Katuari, the President Director of the Wings Group that owns the Hotel, said: “Every aspect of this hotel has been fashioned by leading Indonesian craftsmen who promote the diversity and heritage of the Indonesian archipelago. This, together with the reputation of Kempinski as one of the leading international chain hotels, convinces us that our vision of offering luxury within an Indonesian cultural context will be realized.”
In addition to outstanding accommodation and cuisine, the Apurva Kempinski will also feature a spa, an ocean-view fitness center, a 60-meter long swimming pool, children’s pool, and a family activity area.
Meetings and conferences at The Apurva Kempinski will hosted in a Grand Ballroom with 1,076 square meters of pillarless space, meeting rooms, a beachside wedding chapel, and a 2,200 square meter garden area.
