Australian Real Estate Broker Working in Bali Sent to ICU After Altercation in Red Carpet Champagne Bar

An altercation between two guests at the Red Carpet Champagne Bar on Jalan Kayu Aya in Seminyak has left a local expatriate working in real estate in Bali in intensive care in a local hospital.

The incident occurred on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at around 11:00 pm.

Beritabali.com says police arrested an Englishman, Alasdair A. Ross, who allegedly struck Australian, Nathan Mark Ryan (45) who was visiting the bar with a friend Mark Dennis (48).

The two men were sitting at a table near that occupied by Ross who tried to offer a drink to Ryan, who refused the offer. Ryan is said to have then brushed the hand of Ross, precipitating an attack in which the Australian’s face was struck twice with a glass.

Ryan was rushed to the Siloam Hospital in Kuta where he was warded overnight and then discharged. The Australian collapsed two days later and was re-admitted to intensive care where he remains in critical condition.

Ross was taken into custody by police in Bali.
