Keeping Bali Hotels Safe

Bali Hotels Reminded to be Steadfast in Maintaining Guest Safety and Security
As reported by the State News Agency Antara, the Denpasar branch of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI-Denpasar) has called on all hotels in Bali to enhance their existing security measures following recent terrorist incidents in Surabaya and Sidoarjo.

The chairman of PHRI-Denpasar, Ida Bagus Gede Sidharta Putra, said on Wednesday, May 16, 2018, “I urges hotels, including members hotels of PHRI, to safeguard their hotels and surrounding areas.”

Sidharta Putra said hotels need to enhance security measures by installing CCTV camera and increasing the supervision carried out by security personnel. He also said hotels should be using metal detection equipment to check vehicles, luggage, and individuals entering hotel property.

While improving security measures, Putra, who is more commonly known as “Gusde”, said hotels should communicate to clients and customers that the situation in Bali remains safe and conducive.

Gusde condemned the inhuman actions of terrorists in East Java while calling on all parties to do their utmost to keep Bali a safe tourism destination.
