New Man in Command at Ritz-Carlton in Bali
John Woolley Appointed General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Bali
The Ritz-Carlton, Bali has welcomed experienced hotelier John Woolley as general manager of the 313-rooms and suites property, effective January 20, 2020.
With over 20 years of working experience with Marriott International, formerly served as general manager of the Marriott Bali Seminyak Resort from 2015-2019 where he was named “Courtyard General Manager of the Year” in 2019 and “Asia-Pacific General Manager of the Year in 2016.”
A dual UK and US national, John Woolley has held key sales and marketing, operational, and regional management positions on four continents and the Caribbean before landing in Bali. He is also credited with launch The European Convention Network that generates sales for Marriott’s large group hotels in Europe.
Commenting on his newest assignment in Bali, Woolley said: “It is both an honor and a thrill to be at the helm of such a highly-regarded luxury resort in Bali. The island has become my true home over the last four years. I am passionate about the luxury travel sector here in Bali, so I relish this opportunity to apply my strategic vision and global experience to all aspects of the resort, and bring it to the next level of success. Woolley replaces Karim Tayach who has left Ritz-Carlton, Bali after more than 6 years to become Cluster General Manager of Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha & Kempinski Residences & Suite in Qatar.
