Now being held for the 12th time, the award-winning and internationally acclaimed  Bali International Triathlon will be conducted as an Olympic Distance Event comprised of a 1.5-kilometer swim off Mertasari Beach in Sanur, a 40-kilometers cycling course, and a 10-kilometer road race.  A sprint course, covering half the distances of the Main Event, will also be held together with a fun-filled 5-kilometer “fun run”

The senior director and general manager of Herbalife Nutrition Indonesia, Andam Dewi, told a Bali press conference on Thursday, October 31, 2019, “This year’s Herbalife Bali International Triathlon has received a very positive response from domestic participants from across Indonesia. This is proven by the fact that 80 percent of the participants are Indonesian athletes.”

Continuing, Andam Dewi said: “We are very pleased to be a part of this international sporting event. This has allowed us to be a contributor in developing sports tourism while popularizing triathlon sports in Indonesia.

Among the leading Indonesian athletes expected to join the 2019 event are professional Indonesian athletes Jauharu Johan and Eva Desiana, together with Indonesian actress and triathlete Kelly Tandiono.

The Herbalife Bali International Triathlon 2019 is the fifth time that Herbalife has acted as title sponsor for the event.

Also speaking at the press conference, the chairman of the Sanur Development Foundation, IB Gede Sidhartha Putra, said he hopes that this year’s Herbalife Bali International Triathlon would make a significant contribution to Indonesian sports tourism in general and also provide an economic benefit to the people of Sanur. Adding, “I hope that in the future that the Sanur area will become a headquarters for a number of similar international sporting events such as this.”
