Taking Indonesian Cuisine to New Heights

Garuda Indonesia Offers Indonesian Culinary Specialties on Selected Flights from Jakarta

Under a campaign titled “The New Signature Dishes of Indonesia” the national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia is offering passengers a selection of 21 new in-flight meals.

The new Garuda culinary program was introduced on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, available on domestic flights.

The spotlight on Indonesian cuisine is a joint collaboration between Garuda's in-flight catering subsidiary Aeorofood ACS and the nationally famous Padang Restaurant Chain Sarimande.

Aerofood ACS’s contribution to the Signature Dish Campaign covers 15 menu items over three categories: Signature Breakfast, Signature Lunch and Signature Refreshment.

Highlighting local delicacies, "The New Signature Dishes of Indonesia" features a total of 21 dishes, 15 of which are made by the airline's business unit Aerofood ACS, while six dishes are produced in collaboration with Padang Restaurant Sarimande. The West Sumatran specialties provide nasi Padang with six choices of side dishes that include rendang daging (beef rendang), ayam bakar (grilled chicken), dendeng batokok (beef cooked with red chili), dendeng batusangkar (spicy beef), ayam kalio (chicken with coconut gravy) and Sarimande’s unique ayam takicuah.

Other dishes fashioned by Aerofood ACSs within the Signature Dish Campaign encompass nasi goreng spesial (special fried rice), lontong sate ayam (chicken satay with rice cakes), nasi tutug oncom (rice cooked with fermented soybean paste), and nasi ulam (rice cooked with herbs).

The special means will be available for lunch and dinner on selected routes departing from Jakarta: Jakarta-Batam, Jakarta-Banjarmasin, Jakarta-Pontianak, Jakarta-Banda Aceh, Jakarta-Denpasar, Jakarta-Medan and Jakarta-Lombok.
