Temporary Stay Permits Made Easy!

Bali Airport Sets Up Counter to Issue Limited Stay Permits (ITAS) on Arrival

The State News Agency Antara reports that the Immigration Office at Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali was recently visited by a senior staff member from the Office of the Indonesian Vice-President, Wijayanto Samirin. The visit was an inspection trip to verify that the Airport Immigration Office in Bali was fully prepared to issue limited stay permits (ITAS) for foreign workers employed in Bali.

The spokesperson for the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Misnal Ariyanto, confirmed the inspection visit that took place on Thursday, November 29, 2018, saying foreigners can be issued their pre-approved ITAS at the airport in accordance with Presidential Decree Number 20 of 2018 on the use of foreign manpower.

The Denpasar Immigration Office will set up a special counter for the issuance of ITAS.

In order to be issued a limited stay permit (ITAS) the foreigner must have applied and been approved in advance for a working permit from the Department of Manpower.

Following the inspection, Samarin expressed the appreciation on behalf of the Vice-President’s office for the procedures to issue the ITAS now put in place. The new measures will eliminate the need for foreign workers arriving in Bali to report to the Denpasar Immigration Office in order to obtain a stay permit that will now be issued at the airport upon arrival.

The new ITAS issuing facility at Bali’s airport will be open 24 hours a day.
