Fire at Waenis Bungalow and Restaurant in Abang Destroys one Building and Lobby Area.

One building of the Waenis Bungalow and Restaurant in Abang, Karangasem containing a bedroom, lobby and front office was destroyed by fire on Wednesday, September 26, 2018.

As reported by Nusa Bali, the damage caused to the bungalow was put at Rp. 150 million from a fire officials think was started by the careless tending of a burning pile of rubbish.

The villa located on a cliff overlooking Pantai Banjar Bunutan caught fire at about 2:00 pm three hours after the owner, Ni Ketut Sani, ordered staff working at the Bungalows to burn accumulated trash. Still-burning coals from the fire fanned by sea breezes are believed to have ignited the fire that destroyed the bungalow.
