Water More Expensive in Bali

Water Tariff in Bali Increase of Average 15% on June 1, 2019

NusaBali reports that the Public Water Utility (PDAM) for Denpasar, Bali increased the rate for water on Saturday, June 1, 2019.

The increase in water rates will be 15% for residential users and is authorized by a decree of the Minister of the Interior Number 23 of 2016.

The CEO of PDAM Denpasar, Ida Bagus Gede Arsana, said the increase in price will allow the water utility to improve the quality, quantity and dependability of their services. Arsana said that, in fact, the increase in water prices should have taken place in January but had been delayed until June 2019.

The average increase in water rates is 15%.

There are 5 categories for water tariffs in Bali:  1) social, 2) non-commercial or residential, 3) commercial, 4) industrial and 5) special tariff.
