The Internationally renowned Nihi Sumba Resort and Sumba Foundation are nearing their goal of raising US$200,000 to help fight the COVID-19 Pandemic and assist poor communities on the Island of Sumba impacted by the continuing global health crisis.
As reported by Travelmole.com, Nihi Sumba has raised $165,000 through various fundraising efforts under its Sumba Crisis Relief Initiative https://chuffed.org/project/sumba-fundraiser.
Donations have come from worldwide sources, many of whom are former guests of the one-of-Kind Nihi Sumba Resort.
Organizers of the project point out that a donation of only US$20 is sufficient to feed a family of three for an entire month.
As an added incentive to support the work of the Sumba Foundation, the top donor will re rewarded with a five-night complimentary stay at Nihi Sumba. The second-highest donation receives a three-night stay and the third-highest a one night stay.
The owner of Nihi Sumba has committed a matching donation up to the targeted goal of $200,000
The money collected will be used to provide medical appliances, personal protective equipment, testing, virus education, and the prevention of COVID-19.
Funds will also support water and malnutrition projections in Sumba.
