Another Luxury Hotel at The Nusa Dua

With the looming threat of a moratorium on hotel and accommodation development in South Bali, NusaBali.com reports that a development deal has been signed, paving the way for constructing a new luxury hotel property within the ITDC Complex – The Nusa Dua.

The branding and name for the new hotel have not been announced.

The property will be built on Lot RA-C1 at ITDC, formerly occupied by The Matsuri Japanese Restaurant. The new hotel will be built and operated under a joint venture between  PT Pengembangan Pariwisata Indonesia (ITDC) as the complex manager and  PT Paramita Bali Dewata as the investor/hotel operator.

The subject lot measures 10,418 square meters and has been designated by ITDC for mixed commercial use.

An agreement signing ceremony between ITDC and the investor was held on Monday, 21 October 2024, at the Cicada Resort Bali Ubud, Autograph Collection – a Marriott property. The CEO of ITDC, Ari Respati, and Erwin Tanuwidjaja, the director of  PT Paramita Bali Dewata, conducted the signing. The cooperative agreement has been negotiated for 30 years with an option to extend for 20 years.

While attending the signing ceremony, Ari Respati enthusiastically supported the agreement. He described the agreement as an important step forward to strengthen the position of ITDC in the continuing effort to develop the complex at The Nusa Dua as a premium, dynamic, and integrated tourism destination.

“This cooperation will not only enrichen the accommodation and commercial facility options at The Nusa Dua but will also positively impact the local economy,” added Respati.

He stated that the agreement aligns with ITDC’s mission to continue optimizing the potential of existing land under its control. In addition to focusing on land development, ITDC ensures that this project will prioritize sustainable development to maintain an environmental balance. This collaboration, he said, is expected to enrich accommodation options in The Nusa Dua, as well as provide a significant contribution to the local economy through increased tourist visits, job creation, and new business opportunities. The development of this luxury hotel will strengthen Bali’s appeal as a world-class tourist destination with premium facilities while supporting sustainable tourism.

“We are committed to opening up the widest possible investment opportunities, not only in The Nusa Dua, but also in areas managed by ITDC such as The Mandalika, Central Lombok, NTB, and The Golo Mori, West Manggarai, NTT,” said Ari.

On the other hand, the Director of PT Paramita Bali Dewata, Erwin Tanuwidjaja, said this collaboration is a strategic step in developing projects that contribute to the growth of the tourism and commercial industry in Bali. The Luxury Hotel will be built in 2025 and is targeted to be operational in 2026.

“We are committed to utilizing this land innovatively and sustainably,” said Tanuwidjaja.
