“Bach and Beyond” – Sunday, March 9, 2025

Bali Chamber Music Players (BCMP) returns to the stage and its enthusiastic fan base of classical music aficionados in Bali for a Sunday afternoon of entertainment presented under the theme “Bach and Beyond” – a program focusing on musical education for children in Bali highlighted by a unique harpsichord performance.

B Sharp Foundation is a non-profit musical educational foundation for children founded in 2023 by American violinist-educator Therese Wirkesuma to provide free musical lessons for talented children.

To date, scholarships have been awarded to 15 children.

Part of the Foundation’s Educational and Skill Development mission is to provide performance and concertizing opportunities using the Suzuki Method.

The Sunday, 09th March 2025 concert will feature a performance by Dr. Edith Widayani, a renowned pianist who will also play the harpsichord, a Baroque Instrument rarely heard in Indonesia. She will perform with flutist Ryan Limanto and violinist Shienny Kurniawati, presenting works including the Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 by JS Bach and Romanian Dances by Béla Bartók.

In addition, the Bali Children and Teen’s Choir will join the musical event, performing selected songs, including For the Beauty of the Earth by John Rutter.
