Bali remained a favorite international tourism destination in 2025, as demonstrated by the fact that through January, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport handled 2,012,537 passengers on 12,241 separate domestic and international aircraft movements.
As reported by Beritabali.com, Ngurah Rai Airport served 1,228,058 international passengers, 6,655 international aircraft movements, and 784,479 domestic passengers on 5,586 domestic aircraft movements in January.
The General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, said that January 2025 numbers increased compared to passenger services in the same period in 2024.
“There was an increase of 12 percent compared to last year, with services to 1,803,681 passengers in January 2024,” he explained.
In January, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport served an average of 64 thousand daily passengers.
The highest passenger service occurred on January 3, the peak of the return flow during the Christmas and New Year holidays, with service to 79,342 passengers.
The international route with the highest level of passenger service in January was Singapore, with service to 205,238 passengers and 1,124 aircraft movements. The Kuala Lumpur route served 138,718 passengers and 904 aircraft movements, followed by the Melbourne route, with 101,843 passengers and 529 aircraft movements.

Meanwhile, for domestic routes flying to Bali, the Jakarta (CGK) route still dominates the highest passenger service with 387,508 passengers and 2,599 aircraft movements.
This is followed by the Surabaya route with 116,429 passengers and 705 aircraft movements and Makassar with 45,256 passengers and 313 aircraft movements.
Meanwhile, the Denpasar immigration office reports that Australians represent the foreign national group, recording the highest number of visits to Bali, with 139,577 passengers.
The second highest ranking group of foreign visitors to Bali are Mainland Chinese (PRC) with 61,984 passengers, followed by Indian nationals ay 36,514,
Currently, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport serves 63 routes served by 54 airlines. Of that number, there are 23 domestic routes served by 12 airlines and 40 international routes connecting 19 countries flown by 42 airlines.
“With the increasing number of passengers at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, we are committed to maintaining a high level of service to ensure all airport facilities are operating optimally,” he explained.
In 2024, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport will serve 23.9 million passengers.
This number is approaching the record 24 million passengers served in 2019.
