A night of superlative musical entertainment comes to Bali on Sunday, 25 February 2024, when Pepita Salim – a global star of the classical and Broadway stage, will appear in concert with Bali’s Chamber Musical Ensemble – The Bali Chamber Music Players. Vincent Wiguna – an internationally acclaimed classical pianist and orchestra conductor. Also filling out an outstanding evening of music and song will be the Bali’s Children and Teen Choir.
The 25 February concert program promises an international selection of songs, opera arias, string orchestra classics, and a range of ethnic and folk music from around the world.
To close the evening, The Bali Children and Teens Choir will appear in collaboration with Pepita Salim and The Bali Chamber Music Players.
This concert is being held to raise funds for Be Sharp Bali Foundation, which provides classical music education for children in Bali.
A Night Not To Be Missed . . .
Pepita Salim –
Pepita Salim is an Indonesian-born international vocal artist and a graduate in vocal performance from the New England Conservatory. She has toured the USA and Canada in The Official Broadway Road Show of The King and I. Her voice is also recognized by the TV Series ‘Induk Gajah,’ and the release of her hit single “Tides.”
Most recently, in November 2023, she featured as the soloist in John Rutter’s Magnificat at Aula Sinfonia in Jakarta.
Vincent Wiguna
Pepita’s appearance in Bali will be accompanied by Vincent Wiguna, an accomplished Indonesian pianist and international orchestra conductor. Vincent has recently graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS), studying conducting under Martyn Brabbins. He has performed as a pianist and conductor with several leading orchestras worldwide.
aWiguna has also served as an assistant conductor of the Jakarta City Philharmonic and Bandung Philharmonic.,
The Bali Chamber Music Players
The Bali Chamber Music Players brings together the finest dedicated string players resident in Bali. The group celebrates European classics from Bach to Bartok and presents a diverse repertoire of new composers, folk music, and popular and Indonesian music. The Bali Chamber Music Players excel performing in intimate small settings and in the concert hall.
Members of The Bali Chamber Music Players include professional musicians, music educators, and talented young students.
The Bali Children and Teens Choir
The evening concludes with an en-force musical collaboration between Pepita Salim, Vincent Wiguna, The Bali Chamber Music Players, and The Bali Children and Teens Choir.
The musical program presented on Sunday, 25 February, will be delightfully diverse with compositions including Edward Elgar, Jean Sibelius, Dominisk Argento, Richard Strauss, Giacomo Pucini, Balinese Folk Music, and African Folk Music.
