Bali Community Choir Concert 16 September

The Bali Community Choir’s Annual Concert – a “Celebration of Song” will be held on Saturday, 16 September 2023, at the Assembly Hall of the Warmadewa College on Jalan Merdeka VI, No. 5 in Renon, Central Denpasar.

As in years past, the Bali Community Choir (BCC) will present a wide range of contemporary and traditional songs reflecting the Choir’s membership originating from many countries, cultural backgrounds, and spiritual orientations.

The Choir was founded in 2009 by Australian retiree Brendan O’Donnell, who has lived in Bali since 2008. Before moving to Bali, Brendan O’Donnell was a director with the internationally renowned vocal group “Sing Australia.”

The Bali Community Choir performs several concerts each year and, in the past, has participated in special events such as the special commemoration in 2012 of the Bali Bombing held at the Garuda Wisnu Kencasa Cultural Park officiated over by former Australian Prime Minister John Howard and the then-current Prime Minister Julia Gillard.

The Choir also performs at Australia Day celebrations yearly at the Australian Consulate in Denpasar.

Proceeds from the 16 September 2023 Concert at Warmadewa College will be donated to the John Fawcett Foundation (JFF). JFF is a Bali-based humanitarian organization that surgically operates on 4,500 visually impaired people with cataracts.

These sight-restoring operations are performed without charge for some of Bali’s neediest citizens.

“A Celebration of Song” will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are available at the door for Rp. 50,000. Student tickets cost Rp. 20,000.

Children are admitted to the concert without charge.
