Bali Deport 5 Moldavians & 1 Russian

Six foreign nationals from Russia and Moldova are being deported from Indonesia after their somewhat bizarre decision to illegally occupy the Red Salt Villa & Huts, on Jalan Munduk Kedungu Nomor 29, in Pererenan.

The six foreigners boldly walked into the villa, proclaiming the accommodation was a “gift from God.”

RadarBali.com, on Saturday, 26 March 2022, identified the six only by their initials as DD (44, Moldova), AD (24, Russia), EE (31, Moldova), EE (35, Moldova), AE (5, Moldova), DM (10, Moldova).

The six reportedly entered the villa at 1:00 am on Saturday. At 7:00 am, the owners became aware of the uninvited foreign guests who had entered their villa when they discovered the group had damaged the front gate to gain access.

The villa owner and representative of the Pererenan Village Community confronted the group of foreigners, who boldly responded by proclaiming that they “owned” the villa, which had been given to them as a gift from God. Astounded by the proclamation, the owner immediately contacted immigration officials and other related enforcement agencies.

The head of the Bali office of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, Jamaruli Manihuruk, said on Friday, 08 April 2022 that a team of immigration and other officials came to the scene to personally meet the group of 4 adults and 2 children. The foreign nationals were requested to present their passports and valid visas, but could not do so and refused to even explain their nation of origin.

The six foreigners were then escorted by immigration officials together with police and Badung Regency enforcement officials to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center. RadarBali.com reports some group members tried to battle with police during the transfer.

Upon arrival at the Detention Center, officials searched the six and discovered three complete passports and one additional passport in a partially burnt condition.

Jamaruli revealed that the five Moldavian were members of a family staying in Indonesia on a visitor’s visa. The single Russian held a limited stay permit (ITAS) issued for an investor.

The Moldavians spoke with their Embassy in Tokyo and the Russian with the Russian Embassy in Jakarta to allow the deportation process to move forward.

Immigration authorities have the right to deport any foreigner determined to be breaking the law or disturbing public order.
