Maybank Indonesia has confirmed the running of the 2025 Maybank Marathon – a World Athletics’ Elite Label Road Race.
The 14th edition of the Bali Maybank Marathon will be held on Sunday, 24 August 2025 headquartered at the Bali United Training Center on Purnama Beach in Gianyar Regency.
As in the past, Bali Maybank Marathon 2025 will be presented in 3 categories: a full marathon (42,195 km), a half-marathon (21.2 km), and a 10 km children’s sprint.
Two days before the Marathon, on 22-23 August 2025, race packets will be available for pick-up at The Bali United Training Center.
Steffano Ridwan, the President Director of Maybank Indonesia, quoted in Detik.com, said in a written statement: “Maybank Marathon is a manifestation of our commitment to support a healthy lifestyle, empower communities, and elevate Indonesia’s name in the eyes of the world. We believe that the 2025 event will be even more special than past events with a running experience that is not only challenging but also inspiring.”
Maybank Bali Marathon will soon open online booking, presale options, and registration for a public drawing. The 2025 event will feature a Fast Runner and Maybank Marathon Run for Charity as part of the Bank’s CSR and sustainability commitment.
Maybank Marathon Project Director Widya Permana said that the first and only World Athletics Elite Label Road Race running competition in Indonesia will continue to be held at the Bali United Training Center (BUTC) event. The venue was selected to make the event more accessible and comfortable for the participants.
Widya said that her party is targeting more runners for the marathon category. With the hope that the Maybank Marathon will remain a running event with the largest marathon distance category participation in Indonesia with international standards.
Maybank Bali Marathon 2025 has a strong commitment to sustainability, starting from the Road to Maybank Marathon running until the actual event in Bali in August. Maybank Indonesia hopes to inspire the community and fellow event industry players to care more about the environment. This aligns with Maybank Group’s strategy, “M25+,” – to become a leader in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) sector in the ASEAN Region and is in line with World Athletics’ commitment to pursuing sustainable event standards.
In 2025, Maybank Bali Marathon targets a record 4,000 participants due to the greater capacity of BUTC as race central. 6 separate Road to Maybank Marathon 2025 events will be held between May and August 2025 in Semarang, Surabaya Bandung, Makassar, Denpasar, and Jakarta. The six pre-race seminars will present education seminars covering Sunday morning runs, strength training, CPR training and Life support, and general physical training.
Maybank Indonesia is launching an exclusive pre-sale running slot for Maybank’s pre-existing and new customers, effective 12 January 2025. This program will provide guaranteed running slots before online registration opens on 11 February 2023.
