The Bali Provincial Department of Public Health received a further 20,000 dosages of Sinovac COVID-19 Vaccine on Thursday, 07 January 2021.
As reported by Tribun-Bali.com, this brings the total number of vaccine dosages received in Bali to date to 51,000. The head of the health department, Dr. Ketut Suarjaya, said 3 million of Bali’s 4.22 million residents would be vaccinated.
“So 70% of all residents are targeted (for vaccination). Bali will achieve this in the coming 15 months. The reason for this is the quicker vaccination occurs, the better,” said Suarjaya.
The first to receive the vaccine in Bali will be medical personnel. The number of medical personnel to be vaccinated is 30,320 people. Those inoculated will receive two injections, one in January and one in February.
Suarjaya said inoculations would begin island-wide once the Agency for the Supervision of Drugs and Food (BPOM) authorizes the distribution.
