As reported by Balipost.com, Indonesian Minister of Tourism and the Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, has announced several coming international events for Bali intended to hasten the revival of the Island’s devastated tourism economy.
One of the events promised by the Tourism Minister is the KTT-G20 – Group of Twenty Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors expected to take place in Q4 2022.
The Group of Twenty is, in fact, a group of 19 countries, each with large-scale economies that also include the European Union and the USA. The G-20 was formed in 1999 as a forum to discuss shared concerns affecting the global economy.
In addition to the KTT-G20 in 2022, Sandiaga said Bali is also slated to play host to a National Archery Competition and the Motocross GP 2021.
In response to the announcement of the KTT-G20 Summit, Bali’s Deputy-Governor, Tjokorda Oka Artha Sukawati, has called on the Island’s stakeholders to make all necessary arrangements for the major Summit, especially in the area of repairing and upgrading Bali’s infrastructure and tourism objects.
Bali’s airport must also be made ready to accept aircraft from many national delegations and the VIP planes for heads of state expected to attend the Summit.
Bali hosted the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meetings in October of 2018.
