The Hotel Merusaka, Nusa Dua, has announced the appointment of Scotsman Ian McDonald Cameron as general manager of their 455 room five-star property on Bali’s southern shore.
The latest appointment represents Cameron’s fifth hospitality assignment on the Island of Bali since 1989. Previous Bali positions include jobs at Swiss-Belhotel International Pecatu, Rama Resort Benoa, Grand Aston Bali Beach Resort, Centra Taum Bali, and the Oberoi Bali. Other overseas postings were at The Royal Ambarrukmo Yogyakarta, Centra in the Philippines, Centra Thailand, and the United Kingdom.
Ian recently served as the Chief Marketing and Experience Office at the Mandaya Royal Hospital Puri in West Jakarta.
Before embarking on his 39-year-long hospitality career, Cameron attended Edinburgh Napier University and Napier University in his native Scotland.
Commenting on his appointment to lead the State-owned Indonesian Hotel Group (IHG) property in Bali, Hotel Merusaka, Nusa Dua, Cameron commented: “Having been working outside the hospitality industry for just over a year due to the pandemic, I am absolutely delighted to be back in hotel-keeping where my real passion and experience lie. It is also a hugely exciting time for the re-awakening of the Bali hotel scene that has been so devastated by the last two years’ events. I am really looking forward to building back the business of the Merusaka Nusa Dua.”
Send Ian Cameron a congratulatory welcome email .
