Denpasar, Bali on the Alert for Denue

The Denpasar Bali Health Department (Dinkes-Denpasar) recorded 1,309 cases of Dengue Fever (Deman Berdarah – DBD) for the period January-December 2024. 

As reported by Radarbali.id, the monthly total of new Dengue Fever cases in Denpasar in 2024 was:

  • January – 34
  • February 42
  • March 122
  • April 288
  • May 376
  • June 195
  • July 83
  • August 47
  • September 21
  • October 16
  • November 23
  • December 62

The 2024 total of 1,309  Dengue Fever cases was 15.6% higher than in 2023, when 1,132 cases were recorded. In 2024, nine deaths were attributed to DBD infections.

The Head of the Denpasar Health Service, dr. Anak Agung Ayu Candrawati, told the press that officials are undertaking a program of fogging and door-to-door inspections to eliminate mosquito nesting opportunities for the Aedes Aegypt Mosquito whose bite causes the disease.

People should be aware of the threat of DBD, and when symptoms are detected (See Link), undergo rapid testing available at virtually all medical centers and hospitals.
