Kompas.com reports that the National Air Carrier Garuda Indonesia plans to provide airport transfer services and rental car services from airports serving 16 major Indonesian cities in cooperation with TRAC – a subsidiary of the national ASTRA Group.
The corporate transportation collaboration will commence formal operations in March 2025, when travelers can make transfer and transportation bookings, including selecting premium-quality TRAC vehicles standing by at each destination.
The new airport transportation service will provide vehicles and drivers for transfers and intra-city transportation for 4, 8, or 12 hours. The transportation service will also be bookable via the “FlyGaruda” mobile application and website www.garuda-indonesia.com up to 24 hours before travel.
The new joint venture transportation company will operate from 16 Indonesian airports, including Jakarta, Surabaya, Malang, Yogyakarta, Semarang, Kualanamu, Pekanbaru, Palembang, Lampung, Jambi, Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Makassar, Manado, Bali, and Lombok.
Ade R. Susardi, the Commercial Director of Garuda Indonesia, describes the new airport-based transportation venture as a strategic step for the national carrier to provide an end-to-end seamless experience to travelers that is, at once, “practical, comfortable, and trustworthy.”
Susardi said, “The aviation business offers ancillary service opportunities that can optimize the passenger experience. Garuda and TRAC view tourism transportation services as an area still ripe for development.
Susardi said: “We understand that the Eid holiday is one of the most anticipated moments to gather with family and closest relatives.” He noted that transportation service users who book airport transfer and car rental services with a chauffeur will be served with premium vehicles according to their taste and receive additional benefits in the form of GarudaMiles points that can be collected and exchanged for other exclusive benefits.
