Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) Culture Park is preparing to welcome 2024 with a festive celebration, including 8,888 fireworks launches to light the night sky on Sunday evening, 31 December 2023.
As reported by NusaBali.com, the Operations Director of GWK, Stefanus Yonathan Astayasa, said the New Year’s Eve celebration underlines his organization’s commitment to creating events that positively impact the island’s tourism industry.
The massive pyrotechnic display at GWK’s Festival Park, using 8,888 firework launches, will cost upwards of Rp. 1 billion.
“This year, the number of fireworks to be exploded is 8,888 blasts over 5 minutes. We believe this number represents endless luck because the number 8 is endless. The fireworks display will be synchronized with music for an added dramatic effect,” explained Stefanus.
Also adding to the merriment of New Year’s Eve at GWK will be live music, DJ performances, a night market, and the fireworks display at midnight.
10,000 tickets have already been sold for New Year’s Eve at GWK from an anticipated total ticket sales of 20,000.
An evening to attract and entertain “Generation Z” will include stage performances by leading musical acts, a 360 Photo Booth, a Foam Party with LED lighting, a magical performance, games, and lavish door prizes.
