Hello! Hello! Bandung! Fly Direct KJT-DPS

West Java’s modern 5-star airport serving Bandung and surrounding areas commenced full flight operations on Sunday, 29 October 2023.

All domestic airline flights that once operated from Bandung (BDG) to Bali (DPS) will now fly from Kertajati (KJT) to DPS, replacing flights that once used Bandung’s Municipal Airport (Husein Sastranegara International Airport).

The Kertajati Airport, located in Majalengka Regency of West Java, saw Air Asia on 29 October for Bali depart at 7:15 a.m. That flight, operating as QZ750 using an Airbus A320, carried 70 passengers. The same aircraft, operating as QZ751, flew back to Kertajati carrying 115 passengers departing DPS at 10:55 a.m..

Quoted by Beritabali.com, the general manager of Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan, enthusiastically welcomed the full operation of Kartajati Airport. Handy said that the full operations of the new West Java Airport represent a significant milestone for both Bali’s Airport and Kertajati Airport. Officials claim that through connections between the two airports, a unique synergy is awakened for expanded collaboration in the tourism sector.

“We hope that the operation of Kertajati Airport can increase flight traffic and connectivity between Bali Island and West Java Province. In the future, we hope other flights will also enliven the Bali – Kertajati route,” Handy explained.

In addition to Air Asia, the Bali-Kertajati route is also served by Super Air Jet and Citilink. Currently, Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport serves 19 domestic destinations flown by 12 Indonesian airlines.

During October 2023, Bali’s Airport airport handled 29,000 domestic air passengers.
