MV Heritage Adventurer – a 126-meter luxury expedition cruise ship, made a historic visit to Bali’s northernmost port of Celukan Bawang in Buleleng Regency on 03 October 2024.
As reported by Beritabali.com, the ship operated under a Portuguese flag, berthed along the dock in Celukan Bawang, delivering 126 passengers and 85 crew to North Bali.
The ship arrived at its berthing at 6:30 pm local time on 03 October 2024, where Port Authorities and related agencies welcomed the ship’s arrival. Also in attendance were the Head of Tourism for Buleleng Regency, Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara, and Mochammad Imron – interim general manager of PT Pelindo III in Celukan Bawang. As the passengers disembarked, a group of young dancers welcomed them with traditional music and a Barong dance performance.
Most cruise ship visits to Bali call at the well-developed southernmost Port of Benoa. The unique call and historic berthing at Celukan Bawang was supported by a wide circle of officials that included The Tourism Service of Buleleng Regency, representative of the Village of Celukan Bawang, officials of the Gerokgak District, Port Authorities, Pelindo officials, local law enforcement officials (Satpol PP), Customs and Excise officers, water police (Polairud), the Armed Forces (TNI), and Indonesian police.
Acting General Manager of Pelindo Celukan Bawang Branch, Mochammad Imron, said that the arrival of MV. Heritage Adventurer represents an important occasion because it is the first cruise ship to dock at Celukan Bawang Port since PT Pelindo commenced operational management,
“Hopefully, this will be a good start in increasing cruise ship visits to our port and can positively impact Bali’s tourism economy, especially in North Bali,” said Imron.
During the visit of the MV Heritage Adventurer to North Bali, passengers enjoyed visits to local temples, Hot Springs, a Royal Palace, souvenir shops, Munduk, the Bedugul Twin Lakes, Beji Sangsit Temple, Segara Madu Jagaraga Temple, and Menjangan Island.
The Head of the Buleleng Tourism Office, Gede Dody Sukma Oktiva Askara said that cruise ship visits to Celukan Bawang Port will proceed a ship visit in December and 3 more ship visits in January 2025.
After leaving Celukan Bawang at 6:00 pm on 03 October, it set sail for the Port of Benoa.
