With little or no warning, Kebun Raya Eka Karya Bali – more popularly known as The Bedugul Botanical Gardens, located in the mountain lake district of the Tabanan Regency, has hiked the cost of admission and parking fees.
According to RadarBali.com, the new entry per person tariff for the botanical garden in Bedugul is Rp. 20,000 on weekdays (Monday through Friday) and Rp. 30,000 on weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
Previously, the cost of admission was only Rp. 9,000 for domestic travelers and Rp. 17,000 for foreign visitors.
Visitors to the park and travel operators have complained that the increase in admission was done with little or no prior warning. Some domestic travelers say the more than 100% increase in the cost of visiting the park is creating a newfound reluctance to visit the popular attraction.
Simultaneous with increased admission charges, the Bedugul Botanical Garden has also increased parking fees to Rp. 5,000 for four-wheeled vehicles parked on weekdays, increasing to Rp 20,000 on weekends and national holidays.
Four-wheeled vehicles requiring valet parking must pay Rp. 70,000 and busses pay Rp. 50,000.
Visitors arriving on motorcycles can expect to pay parking fees of Rp. 15,000 on weekdays and Rp. 20,000 on weekends.
