Saudia Airlines, the National Flag Carrier of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, landed its inaugural flight from the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport after departing Jeddah at 1:10 am on Monday, 31 March 2025.
The new service will operate thrice weekly using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Flight SV856 was welcomed with a water cannon salute provided by the Airport’s fire brigade.

Quoted by Beritabali.com. Faisal Alallah said Bali has become the third Indonesian destination served by Saudia Airlines after Jakarta and Medan. He explained that the Airline will carry a complete range of passengers, including tourists, business executives, transit passengers, and religious pilgrims.
Speaking at a press conference following the inaugural landing, Alalah said: “The route to Bali is in line with the Airline’s strategic vision to enhance its competitive advantage and expand its global footprint. It also underlines the Airline’s commitment to expanding its network.” He also explained that the Boeing B787 Dreamliner used on this route is known for its advanced technology and superior in-flight entertainment options. This aircraft offers spacious seating and premium services to ensure an extraordinary travel experience for all passengers.

Saudia Airlines currently operates 147 Boeing and Airbus aircraft connecting more than 100 destinations across four continents. The Airline also plans to expand by adding 118 new aircraft to increase seating capacity and introduce additional international routes.
All in attendance at the ceremony expressed the wish that the new air service would increase the number of Saudi Arabian tourists visiting Bali.
In 2024, only 14,000 Saudi Arabian tourists visited Bali. For January- February 2025, the number of Saudi Arabian tourists landing in Bali was around 2,000. The introduction of three direct flights connecting Jeddah and Denpasar is expected to substantially increase the number of tourists coming to the Island from the Kingdom.
