Indonesia’s Lion Air Group and South Korea’s Jeju Air are cooperating to introduce a new air route connecting Bali and South Korea.
Detik.travel reports that the new route opens on 27 October 2024, connecting Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport with Incheon International Airport in Seoul.
The cooperation agreement terms will see Lion Air bring passengers to Denpasar, Bali, where they will connect with an onward flight to Seoul on Jeju Air. Conversely, South Korean tourists can now fly to Bali or Batam on Jeju Air to connect with onward flights on Lion Air to various Indonesian destinations.
Danang Mandala Prihantoro, the Director of Corporate Communications Strategic for the Lion Group, said on Wednesday, 23 October 2024: “This collaboration is expected to attract more foreign tourists, especially from South Korea, through new hub options, namely Bali and Batam. This aligns with the government’s efforts to increase foreign tourist visits and strengthen the national tourism industry.”
Danang continued, saying that the new flight will increase passengers transiting to other Indonesian destinations via Batam and Bali, facilitating exploration of the Indonesian archipelago. “This will open many new tourism opportunities for foreign and domestic tourists.”
The new route will also allow travelers to use the new Lion Air BookCabin Application that permits online check-in and opportunities to upgrade travel to business class on the Lion Air affiliate Batik Air.
The new Incheon – Bali route on Jeju Air will operate daily.
