Maybank Indonesia has announced that the Maybank Marathon will return to Bali on Sunday, 28 August 2022.
The eleventh edition of the race’s start will be at The Bali Safari and Marine Park in Gianyar, north of Bali’s capital of Denpasar. The race will return to its original route celebrating a course through traditional villages and the farmlands of Bali’s Gianyar Regency.
As in the past, a fun part of the festivities is “Race Pack Collection Day,” which takes place at Taman Bhagawan, Tanjung Benoa in Bali on 26-27 August.
The Maybank Marathon is the only marathon event in Indonesia that, from its inauguration, has possessed certification from World Athletic (formerly the International Association of Athletics Federations or IAAF). Since 2020, the Maybank Event in Bali was elevated to the status of an “Elite Label” event by World Athletic. The Maybank Marathon in Bali is the only marathon event in Indonesia listed as a major “road running event” on the calendars of World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS).
The announcement launching the Maybank Marathon 2022 in Bali was made by the President Director of Maybank Indonesia, Taswin Zakaria, at the Maybank headquarters in Senayan, Jakarta, confirming a partnership with the Indonesian Athletic Association (PB PASI).
