Minister Calls for More Aid for Bali Tourism Industry

The Minister of Tourism and the Creative Economy, Wishnutama Kusubandi, has reported to the Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, that Bali’s tourism industry is reviving and hotels in several locations are reporting higher occupancy rates.

Quoted by detikfinance.com, Wishnutama said on Friday, 27 November 2020: “I reported to Minister Luhut as I am in fact in Bali where several hotels in Benoa are projecting occupancy rates of up to 80% for the coming month of December. Last night I undertook a check of the Benoa. In Nusa Dua, hotel occupancies have increased to 40% today. These booking levels will continue to grow.”

The Tourism Minister said conditions are most promising for the tourism sector. He noted that tourism operators have great hopes for the year-end holiday season. 

The Tourism Minister called on Minister Luhut Pandjaitan to provide more aid and assistance to permit tourism operators to rise again.
