(Updated: 15 April 2024) Local news media and social media are awash with news articles and videos regarding how a 26-year-old American man, Mitchell McMahon, ran amuck on Saturday morning, 12 April 2025, while receiving medical treatment at the Nusa Medika Klinik Pratama located on Jalan Labuan Sait, Pecatu, South Kuta.
A video now streaming on social media shows the young American on a one-person rampage, destroying interior elements of the Clinic, threatening bodily harm to his accompanying friend and clinic personnel, and terrifying other patients.

An Instagram Video (included here) shows McMahon screaming, overturning cabinets, ripping down patient curtains, and frightening patients and staff.
Beritabali.com and RadarBali.com quoted the spokesman for the Denpasar Police Precinct, AKP I Ketut Sukadi, who said the incident took place on Saturday at around 5:00 am when McMahon, in the company of another foreign national, arrived at the Clinic using online transport.
Police say that when he arrived at the Medical Clinic, McMahon was unconscious and was carried into an examination room. An eyewitness from the Clinic’s staff said the melee started when McMahon regained consciousness and launched an attack on his companion, who brought him to the Clinic for unspecified medical attention.
Dressed only in his underpants, McMahon escalated his attack, screaming threats and obscenities while he uncontrollably sought to destroy the Clinic’s interior fittings,
Police were called and, shortly after they arrived at the crime scene, managed to subdue the American. McMahon was later brought to the South Kuta Police Precinct, where Clinic representatives and the American gave formal statements to the Police.

At the Police station, Mitchell McMahon admitted his criminal behavior, apologized to the Clinic, blamed the incident on a “simple misunderstanding,” and quickly agreed to compensate for the extensive damage he caused during his visit to the Klinik Nusa Medika Pratama. NusaBali.com reports that the American compensated the Clinic for damages of Rp. 35 million

MacMohan, who was born in Virginia, USA, was deported on Monday afternoon, 14 April 2025, by Indonesian Immigration Authorities.
Drug Use
Urinalysis testing conducted while in police custody revealed traces of cocaine and tetrahydrocannabinol (marijuana) in Mitchell Mcmohan’s system. This triggered rigorous searches of the American’s person, possessions, and accommodation. Because police searches found no actual narcotics, police could not be pursued under Indonesia’s strict anti-narcotics laws.
