Sunday, June 9, 2019 5.7 Magnitude Earthquake Southwest of Bali Barely Felt and Causes No Damage
The Meteorological, Climate and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 Richter Scale southeast of Bali on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at 4:32 pm.
The epicenter for the earthquake was 88 km southwest of Cilacap, Central Java or 331 km southwest of Nusa Dua, Bali. The depth of the seismic event was 10 km.
As reported by Beritabali.com, there was no risk of a tsunami associated with the earthquake.
Using a reporting system established by Bali’s Provincial Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) confirmed that no damage was caused by the earthquake across 8 regions of Bali. In fact, very few people in Bali felt any shaking caused by the earthquake.
